I am retired a math teacher, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. Before teaching I worked as a paralegal for an attorney specializing in civil rights defense. I have a degree in business from LaTech University (Go Dawgs!) and did my graduate work at Centenary College to become a teacher. I grew up in a military family and so felt the call to serve with Louisiana’s Own 156 Army National Guard Band, allowing me to live out two things in life that are very important to me - service to country and music. I currently play with the Shreveport Municipal Concert Band. Music, to me, is a fundamental force that allows me to connect with God, as I understand Him.
After retiring from teaching I felt a distinct emptiness of purpose. When I started working at CDC, I knew I had regained that purpose. I am super excited to be helping handle the business end of the practice, so the therapists and counselors can focus on the therapeutic end. Their commitment to quality, progressive mental health care is impressive and evident in everything they do.

My goal is simple. I want to answer your question or put you in touch with a therapist the same day you call. In fact, if you call the office number, it rings on my desk. When you walk into my office, I want you to feel at ease and know that I am here to help you. You may notice a lot of positive sayings posted around the room. My favorite sits on my desk. “Don’t forget to be awesome.” Clint’s version would say, “Don’t forget to be awesome seven out of ten times.” I like that. It reminds me I do not have to be perfect. Neither do you. I believe that is what God intended.

I graduated from Louisiana Tech with a Bachelors Degree in Sociology. I am currently pursuing my Master’s Degree in Counseling at LSUS. My desire has always been to empower others to reach their fullest potential. I love helping others get tasks completed and reach goals, while smiling and enjoying the journey. One of the reasons working for CDCIW has been so fulfilling for me is because I get to help with a multitude of tasks, which helps create space and capacity for the clinicians to do what they do best. One of my roles is to communicate with our staff and community partners about speaking events, scheduling, meetings, appointments, and marketing. I hope to continually grow on the team as we expand to new heights of clinical care. If you are interested in scheduling a meeting, event, or speaking engagement, with Clint or any other teams memebers I would love to help you.

I’m also a yoga instructor at CDCIW. I am passionate about helping people integrate their mind, body, and soul. I’m thankful for this opportunity to help empower others to find peace within their bodies and healing through yoga. As a part of my own life, I’ve seen God use yoga to give me peace and healing through my trauma history and my previous eating disorder. Being able to help others through their recovery is very fulfilling for me. I hope to see you in one of my classes!
