Yoga therapy is a whole-body approach to recovery. Tuning into your body’s cues through yoga can go a long way to helping you begin to be more mindful in your responses. When trauma or addiction enters into someone’s life, our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors can easily become out of control when repressed. Often times we look to outside sources that lead to negative outcomes in our life. Other times we do not look for help at all becoming numb to our body’s physical and mental needs. Yoga is a very helpful way to reintroduce someone to their physical, mental, or emotional needs that have been neglected and begin to generate mindfulness. Yoga combined with cognitive therapy is invaluable to helping you feel calm and grounded. Even day-to-day life can be overwhelming so taking time out to care for yourself will always result in a better you.
Sunday 5:00 – 6:15 PM Yin + Sound Bath // $15
Hectic schedules and to do lists can leave us feeling exhausted and overwhelmed. Slowing down with this combination class is a great was to start your week off feeling centered and relaxed. Yin yoga is a meditation that engages your mind, body and breath in long held grounding yoga postures.The Sound Bath uses a combination of Quartz crystal and Tibetan singing bowls to facilitate deep relaxation and peace.
Tuesday 6:00 – 7:15 PM Yin + Yoga Nidra // $15
This class combines the long held yoga postures of Yin yoga and yoga nidra or “yogic sleep.” This grounding practice will release tension held in the physical body and end with a systematic guided meditation method for total relaxation.
Thursday 5:30-6:30 Relaxation Flow // $15
Trauma informed yoga offers an opportunity for change into the mental and physical state of trauma survivors. TIY is arranged with poses and flows that bring the body into a state that facilitates healing. Often times trauma survivors suffer from disruption within both the physical as well as mental body. Through this grounding practice we hope to see tension released in the mind and body that opens the spirit to healing and restoration! This simple flow will help to regain space and stability in your mind and body.
Saturday 10:00-11:15 a.m. Restore + Relax // $15
For those pursuing recovery, yoga is a positive way to produce consciousness instead of escape. This practice will aid in those recovering to experience sitting quietly, calming the mind with breath, and experiencing comfort and peace. You will engage in a series of postures that are simple and effective for healing. The intention of this practice is to create honesty within oneself and the skill to overcome uncomfortable feelings in a positive way.
